CAL FIRE: Vegetation Management Burn at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center - June 10-12

CAMINO, CA –The Amador-El Dorado Unit of CAL FIRE will be conducting a training and fuels reduction burn of approximately 300 acres over the course of the next 3 days at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center Vegetation Management Project (VMP) located at 15501 Meiss Road, Sloughhouse.  The project is south and east of Rancho Murieta. This project is scheduled for June 10th – 12th, 2020 from 10:00 am until approximately 7:00 pm each day.  Smoke may be visible in the area.

The purpose of this burn is to train fire crews in live fire situations while removing highly flammable vegetation under a controlled environment.  This will help reduce the risk of wildfire near surrounding communities.

As with all CAL FIRE controlled burns, this project will be evaluated each day of the burn utilizing a Go/No Go checklist that is based on weather and incident activity.
