Amador Democrats: Update on the Congressional District Caucuses

HELLO AMADOR DEMOCRATS! Hope you are all doing well during this sad and depressing time. I am so grateful to be living in California where we believe in science and where we listen to the experts. Everyone is making serious adjustments for now and probably into the future. Below is a note from me and below that is a message from the Calif. State Democratic Party regarding voting for delegates to the National Convention in August. Stay well and watch for news on our website:   www.amadordemocrats.org. and our Facebook page: AmadorDemocrats.

Below is an email from CADEM regarding voting for delegates to this years national convention. The only person from Amador is Josh Lewis and he is running as a Sanders Delegate. Josh established a Dem club at Amador High in his Senior Year and is currently at CalBerkeley and an officer in the Calif. Young Democrats.

To vote for Josh click on the 'hear' button in the email and follow the directions. Be sure to choose the Sanders campaign. If you wish to choose a Biden delegate then choose his campaign. I am not aware of anyone we know who is running to be a Biden delegate. Don't forget we are in Cong. District 4.

Note the deadline for requesting a ballot is 5/28. The email explains the rest of the process pretty clearly.

Thanks everyone!

Dear California Democrats,

Due to the extension of “stay at home” orders across the state, the upcoming Congressional District Caucuses to elect delegates to the Democratic National Convention will take place virtually and delegates will be selected through an online process managed by the Presidential campaigns.

To participate in the virtual caucuses, you must request your online ballot HERE. Online ballot requests will be accepted through May 28th @ 5PM. Please note, you must be a registered Democrat and you must be registered in the congressional district for which you’ve requested a ballot. To check and see which Congressional District you live in, please visit: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative.

Only registered Democrats will receive an online ballot.

The process timeline is as follows:
  • May 19 - May 28 at 5:00 PM, Ballot request period
  • June 5, Ballots emailed to you from the Presidential campaigns (Biden, Bloomberg, Sanders & Warren)
  • June 5 - June 7 at 5:00 PM, Ballot return period
  • June 7 at 5:00 PM, Deadline to complete online ballots
  • June 9, Results tabulated and finalized by campaigns
Please email Delegate2020@cadem.org if you have any questions.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
The CADEM Team
