Mt. Zion Church: Our Doors Are Open!

Returning to Church Plan

Below you will find the guidelines we will be following as return to public worship.

1. The service will continue to be streamed live every week on our website, YouTube and Facebook for those who do not feel safe returning to public worship and for our shut-in members.

2. Hand sanitizer will be readily available in multiple locations.

3. Everyone is encouraged to wear their own personal protective equipment.

4. The doors will be propped open to allow for “no contact” entry into the building.

5. Please do not gather and congregate by the doors. Please move to your seat or out of the building.

6. After the service please remain in your seat and wait to be ushered out. We will dismiss slowly and ask that when you are dismissed that you would promptly move to the exits. If you wish to talk with someone, please do so outside while maintaining adequate physical distancing.

7. Please refrain from greeting one another with handshakes or hugs.

8. The collection will be taken in offering stations that will be placed ion a table in back of the sanctuary and the church lobby.

9. For the time being, children’s church and nursery will not be available.

10. Please be patient as we move through these “Un-Charted Waters”.

Our Doors Are Open!
Dawn Is Coming - Part 2

Trials will surely come for us, but take heart. There is victory to be shared! As we dive into the book of First Peter, we find a letter full of promise for everyone who has an ear to hear.

Blessings,
Pastor Erik

AmadorArts: Join Our Artist Registry!

Free Online Directory & Calendar for Local Creatives
to Market and Sell Their Works and Events

Are you an artist or artisan in the Mother Lode region?  You’re invited to join the free AmadorArts Directory, newly launched on the council’s website, www.amadorarts.org. This free directory is available to all visual, theatre, dance, media, and industrial artists; like culinary, viniculture, maker, folk artisans, and more!

The Amador County Arts Council understands the on-going challenges of marketing artistic work, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help support the economic endeavors of local creatives, AmadorArts has installed an online professional directory that is entirely free and open to artists and artisans of all kinds who live, work, or actively create in the Mother Lode region. The free directory and the accompanying art event calendar are open to individual artists as well as arts-based organizations. If you host artsy events of any kind, this will be the spot to get your events highlighted and easily searchable for tourists and locals alike. Plus, those who are donors to AmadorArts get a live link to their professional website or sales platform.

It’s simple; the individual artist or organization gets to create and manage their entire profile on this directory. It’s like a free mini-website! This marketing tool means each artist or organization can have a tailor-made listing with bio, photos, and prices. You can even have video! Consumers will be able to contact the artist without sharing confidential contact info. It’s a great way to direct buyers to the artists they want for gigs, commissions, recordings, tickets, arts classes, and more. When someone is looking for a local artist, they will be easy to find.

Help our community stay connected to the arts by getting your artsy self registered HERE: https://www.amadorarts.org/directory/If you need help navigating this resource, reach out to Alyssa Vargas at alyssa.amadorarts@gmail.comwho is happy to train you and answer questions.

ARTS EDUCATION IS ESSENTIAL
Amador County Arts Council is forever dedicated to assuring that students receive standard-based arts education no matter what kind of changes occur globally and locally. We continue to actively partner with the California Alliance for Arts Education and work directly with district leaders, principals, teachers, students and families to assess and implement a curriculum rich in the arts. Recently, as seen above, Fine Artist and locally beloved teacher, Bruce Peccianti taught his Ancient Chinese History and Art class via an online broadcast produced by KVGC Radio. We worked together to adapt the class so that 6th-graders at home can still receive arts education. The class is available HERE to everyone.
AMADORARTS GALLERY
The gallery is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19. We have an online gallery which can be viewed HERE.

The current online gallery includes the LatinX Art Show and the High School Art Competition. We plan to have this show in-person when we are able to do so.
TGIF Free Concerts are cancelled due COVID-19, but we'll be back in 2021 with more great music!
Featured Artist - Marleen Olive
Soft spoken, respected, artistic elder Marleen Olive is our May Featured Artist. Her work is so diverse, and as seen above in one of her classes, she is a joyous teacher. AmadorArts is proud to have her as a new member of our Board of Directors. Marleen has an Art degree from West Hills Community College and was an Art Instructor for Southwestern Oregon Community College in Brookings, OR. She is skilled in watercolor, inks, acrylics and mixed media techniques. To describe her work, she says, “I like to paint realistic to non-objective using nature as a motif.” Marleen is eager to teach you as soon as it is safe again! Keep in touch with her prolific creations HERE.
