AmadorArts: Free Online Music Classes Have Started and are On-Going

In its continuing effort to keep people, all ages, arts-connected at home, Amador County Arts Council is offering music classes online. Below are three different ones, all free:

1.) Music for First Graders:  Sign up your First Grade Student now for the next round. The first class quickly filled on facebook and the Arts Council hopes to have further funding to continue to offer this online class. Your child will be involved in these musical activities: exploring the voice, listening, singing, song stories, exploring movement, moving to the beat, etc. Folk songs, rhymes, and classical music will be included in the musical experience. The purpose of the class is to work on developing the child's tuneful, beat-ful, and artful abilities. Taught by professional Cellist, Composer, and music teacher, Biljana Bojović, the class takes place in a private online ZOOM room. There are six dates on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 pm.

Biljana Bojović
The instruction follows a Feireabend-inspired music approach. The renowned Dr. Feierabend has 40 plus years of research and teaching age-appropriate lessons, specifically for early elementary school students.  Professional music instructor Biljana Bojović  is originally from the Balkans, then Indianapolis, now here in Jackson. For many years she had a very active musical life as an educator, composer, and freelance cellist performing in many different venues as a soloist, in chamber groups and orchestras, such as the local Mother Lode Friends of Music Orchestra.

2.) Intro Piano or Cello Lessons for Any Age: Limit one 20-minute class per person. You must have a piano or keyboard or cello at home and the ability to use ZOOM or SKYPE. Offered now -April 23. Taught by Biljana Bojović, this free lesson is a perfect opportunity for an individual needing quick help with his/her music, or for someone wanting to start piano or cello but not ever having time before this home isolation period.

3.)  Music Listening Class:  Are you willing to stretch your ears? Welcome to Music Listening with Biljana Bojović. This class will have a seminar format in which all present will actively participate in the topic discussions.  Participants will be listening to four classical compositions and then share their cognitive and emotional responses. Open to all ages. class size is unlimited in this Zoom Room format. (No cost for either class or ZOOM)
