AmadorArts: Volunteers Needed for Student Art Show and TGIF Concerts

Amador County Arts Council, a nonprofit since 1981, is a resource for all things ART in Amador.  The only way it succeeds is through its volunteers. Become a volunteer today!  Amador Arts has volunteer opportunities for individuals of all ages who love the arts and people. Volunteers will be invited to The Volunteer Thank You Party on August 21 at Terra d’Oro Winery, where the organization will announce the Volunteer of the Year winner.

Each year the annual Student Arts Showcase is a popular event for kids, families and residents. 
The annual Student Arts Showcase is being held this Spring. This exhibition will showcase original art by local K-6 students in the Amador Arts Fine Artists Schools program.  Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of tasks, from meet/greet of guests to organizing/categorizing of artwork.  This year’s exhibition of art will be held at the Amador County Unified School District Office in Jackson. While the event is from May 4 - 8 and May 11-15, from 2:45 -5:45 pm each day, there are other tasks such as transporting, setting up and taking down the art.  If you have any questions or would like to volunteer your time please call or email, as soon as possible, the Program Chair, Christie Lane at 209-267-1905 or

Free TGIF concerts draw thousands to local parks each summer.
On June 22nd the Annual T.G.I.F. Summer Concerts series begins. If you love music, the outdoors, and being with people, this is the volunteer spot for you.  Each week the free concerts are held at a different location throughout Amador County, featuring a different band.  Amador County Arts Council is looking for 2 volunteers for each of the 10 concerts to assist with the T.G.I.F. 

The following is a description of the tasks:
Hours are 5:30pm - 8:15pm
Set up the reception table with AmadorArts materials
Assist in hanging signage
Greet people and provide membership donor forms and info about future events
Pass the bucket to attendees for donations to AmadorArts
Repack supplies, take down table, assist in loading car

Concert Series dates: June 12, June 19, June 26, July 3, July 10, July 17, July 31, August 7, August 14, or August 21.  At the final TGIF concert, Amador County Arts Council will host a party to thank and honor all of the volunteers, the TGIF sponsors, and donors who have contributed $200 or more each year. The annual Patron of the Arts and Volunteer of the Year awards will be awarded.
