Call for Artists for the Latinx Art Show in Jackson
Deadline to register by email is March 5.
Amador County Arts Council is hosting a Latinx Art Show in its gallery in Jackson starting April 3 and running through May 14. A Call for Artists has been announced, and Latinx artists worldwide are invited to submit work for this exhibition of original painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media, quilting, poetry, music, dance, and more. The council is looking for 25 Latinx artists.
First, register your intent to submit works by March 5: E-mail . Artists may include artist bio and statement, maximum 500 characters. Works may be for sale, with suggested donation to Amador County Arts Council.
Artwork must be delivered, ready to hang with no exposed glass/jagged edges, on Thursday, March 26, 12-6 pm, to Amador County Arts Council at 617 South Hwy 49, Jackson CA 95642. Artwork must be picked-up at the close of the show on May 14th from 5-7pm. There is no cost to enter.
The team curating the show include:
Betzaida Arroyo - United Health Group (Optum) Program Integrity Manager, United States Air Force Veteran, PhD candidate, and Victory Village board member.
Lilliana Falco – Artists and ESL (English as a Second Language) Aid for the school district.
Nettie Fox - incoming President of the Amador County Arts Council, Program Coordinator and Facility Manager of the Amador Senior Center, and United States Navy Veteran.
The Latinx Art Show will open with a free public reception with music on April 3, from 4-7pm. Public viewing hours will continue Tuesdays through Thursdays from 12-6pm until May 14th.
