Join AAUW on Sunday, March 15 from 2-4PM in celebrating Women’s History Month.
Dr. Michelle Roland will speak about her medical career ranging from her training at UC Davis and UC San Francisco, experience in HIV/AIDS treatment, education and prevention to leading the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Country Offices in Tanzania and Botswana. In Africa she worked with numerous partners to reduce the burden of HIV, TB, malaria and other public health challenges.
In May, 2019, Dr. Roland took over Dr. Bob Hartmann’s internal medicine practice in Jackson. Much of her focus is on helping people navigate their older years. Dr. Roland’s photographer husband, Richard Miles, will conclude the program with images of their time in Africa.
