Operation Care: 8th Annual Color Madness - Sign Up Now!

Dating violence is more common than many people think.

1 IN 3 teens in the U.S. will experience physical, sexual or emotional abuse by someone they are in a relationship with before they become adults.

We need your help to spread awareness about dating abuse and let everyone know they deserve a safe and healthy relationship.

TeenDVMonth is a national effort to raise awareness about abuse in teen and 20-something relationships and promote programs that prevent it during the month of February.

February 11th is
WEAR ORANGE DAY

Wear orange on Tuesday, February 11th to help raise awareness of Teen Dating Violence and promote healthy relationships. Operation Care staff will have booths at Jackson Junior High and at Amador, Argonaut, and Independence High schools with information and TDVAM items for everyone who stops by!

Allis Bronken
Teen Advocate

Allis Bronken is a junior at Amador High School. She was born in Bucharest, Romania, and came to America when she was 3 ½ years old. Throughout her youth, she vacationed in Romania. As a child, Allis struggled not only with learning a new language but also with learning in general. But as she grew, so did her knowledge. She was accepted into the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program, receiving awards such as the "Every Student Succeeding" award presented and signed by President Obama, and she belonged to clubs such as Nature Bowl and Odyssey of the Mind. She is currently busy keeping up with advanced placement classes in high school, as well as first year college courses. Allis works at Taco Bell and Operation Care.

Allis began attending Operation Care’s The Go! Youth Program when she was 15 years old, after hearing about it through her school. She was eventually hired as the Teen Advocate for the program. “I continue to grow and learn through Operation Care and truly enjoy the great opportunity they have given me”, says Allis. “I enjoy being a part of my community and am grateful for my amazing life.”

Allis will be speaking about the importance of healthy friendships and dating relationships at the Capitol in Sacramento on Februay 11th.

Way to go Allis!
