To celebrate February’s Black History Month, AmadorArts invites all artists to help foster a better understanding of African American culture by submitting artwork to "ROOTS: A Black Heritage Art Show.” The deadline to indicate intent has been extended to Sunday, January 5 by midnight, 2020. AmadorArts is seeking artists who have an appreciation for, and ability to creatively express, the contribution of Blacks throughout history to our culture and our country. Whether you have yourself contributed as a Black American; if you participated in Civil Rights march or other activities; experienced the impact of Black art, music or poetry; have Black ancestry; lived in a Black community; taught a predominantly Black school; or taught Black history or art as a teacher in any of our schools AmadorArts is looking for you!
There are no fees associated with this exhibition, and all entries will be accepted including: two-dimensional art or photography, jewelry, small sculpture, and printed poetry or songs.
