SUTTER CREEK, CA -Amador Water Agency Directors Thursday appointed Randal Livingston to the District 5 seat left vacant by the resignation of Art Toy. Livingston is a licensed Mechanical Engineer who worked for 37 years in water delivery systems, water law and water rights and is retired from Pacific Gas and Electric.
An ad hoc committee of AWA directors, Susan Peters (District 4) and Paul Molinelli, Jr. (District 1), interviewed two applicants for the position, Livingston and Brian Jobson, both residents of District 5. Jobson worked for 25 years at Sacramento Municipal Utility District in Regulatory Affairs, and most recently as a consultant to water districts including Jackson Valley Irrigation District.
“This was a very difficult decision for the committee to make since both candidates are so knowledgeable and experienced in water issues in our region,” said Molinelli, introducing the candidates at Thursday’s meeting.
The committee ultimately recommended candidate Livingston for his extensive experience in water rights.
The Board approved the committee’s recommendation 3-1, with Director Farrington opposed, and newly appointed Director Livingston was seated at meeting.
Art Toy resigned from the AWA Board September 27, 2019. Livingston will serve out Toy’s term, which expires in December, 2022.
