Saturday, November 9 at 7 p.m. Caleb Caudle will play at Feist Wines in Sutter Creek.
Singer-songwriter Caudle grew up in the Mountains of North Carolina and was raised on rock n’ roll and Southern hospitality. When he was 18 years old, he drove his 92' Toyota Camry to the local Goodwill and bought 4 cassette tapes for a dollar. Little did he know that driving down backroads and singing along to Percy Sledge, Joe Cocker, Emmylou Harris and The Band would change the course of his musical career.
In 2012 he quit his day to focus on music. He was recently dubbed one of “10 New Country Artists You Need Know” by Rolling Stone.
"Caleb Caudle's sound encompasses the wide expanse of America, as the best country rock always will," says NPR and Rolling Stone Country calls him "The musical equivalent of high-proof bourbon."
In August, he released his fresh take on the Hank Williams Classic “’ At Moon.” Caudle gives his take on production.
“I had the honor of making a record at the legendary Cash Cabin Studio, built by Johnny Cash in 1979. I wanted to do something special for my fans apart from the album, so I threw out the idea of cutting this classic Hank Williams song. The playful lyrics drew me in, and I wanted to put a down-home funky groove on it. We ditched the headphones to play live together, and by the end of the second take, the great Dennis Crouch looked over at me with a smile on his face and said, “I’ve never played it like that before!”. His reaction told me we not only captured some kind of magic, but we were able to honor the song while bringing new energy to it.”
General admission tickets are $10 and are available at .com. Wood fired pizza and artisan cheeses and charcuterie are served starting at 5 p.m.
