Avio Wines: Thanksgiving - What wines to serve?

What wines to serve?
Pairing wine with Thanksgiving Day turkey is actually not as difficult as it seems. The meat’s succulent flavor profile and juicy texture make it the perfect match for an array of diverse grape varieties, all grown at Avio Vineyards. From a rich balanced white, to earthy, fruit-driven reds, here are our recommendations for the best wines to sip with turkey this Thanksgiving Day.

Pinot Grigio -
We love to sip this while we are cooking because it is just so smooth. the wine’s crisp acidity, mineral undertones, and fruit-forward nature brings out the best that turkey has to offer. 2016 Pinot Grigio

Zinfandel -
There’s a reason why Zinfandel has long been a Thanksgiving Day staple—it’s one of the best wines with turkey. Jammy, juicy, and fruit forward. 2016 Absolution and the 2016 Zinfandel

Champagne -
No holiday is a true celebration until a bottle of bubbly gets popped, and Thanksgiving is no exception. Champagne might just be the best wine to sip with turkey-- as well as pre-dinner, post dinner, and every second in between. Brut and then our Raspberry just for fun!

Avio is Open on Wednesday from 12 -3
