Reckless Kelly - Grammy winning Alt-country rock, Roots, Americana
TUESDAY November 12, 8 pm
$36 Advance / $41 Day of show
Reckless Kelly continues to do what's made them among the best in the Texas music scene, balancing roots country and rock with original songs centered around rousing and introspective melodies, and dynamic musicianship. Their 2016 album release (their 9th) Sunset Motel has already been named the #10 Best Essential Album of 2016 and scored a 2017 Grammy nomination. This was a follow-up to their Grammy-winning, ballad rich Long Night Moon- with tartly honest roots-rocking tunes about heartache and indecision. Reckless Kelly's string of critically acclaimed albums includes Grammy -nominated Good Luck & True Love (2011) and Grammy-winning Long Night Moon (2013).
"Son Volt's album Trace had a major effect on us. People like Joe Ely, Ray Kennedy and Robert Earl Keen were always big supporters. Our goal was to make music that had a country vibe but a solid rock edge."
"The Austin-based band were Americana before there really was such a term, combining roots, rock and country influences into an uncompromising musical approach that has earned the Grammy-winning group a very steadfast and loyal following. " - A Taste of Country

SOLD OUT! Whitey Morgan & the 78s with Alex Williams - Outlaw Country!rticle Headline
Friday November 15, 8 pm
$30 Advance / $35 Day of show
Whitey Morgan is a master of the honky tonk sound and scene, having played more of them than anyone on the last dozen years as the leader of one of the most tirelessly touring bar bands in existence. Recently Whitey's started a family out near an abandoned Western tourist town in interior California, and doesn't log the some 300+ dates on the road a year he once did. But Whitey Morgan is still like the embodiment of all the rage and frustration of true country music fans channeled into one hairy human vessel.
Joe Craven & the Sometimers - Americana, standards, and more
Saturday November 16, 7 pm
$20 Advance / $23 Day of show
"His music combines so many diverse elements that it is practically its own genre." ~ Audiophile Review
Joe has made music with many folks - notably violinist Stephane Grappelli and Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia - to multi-whirled string guy David Lindley, harmonica wizard Howard Levy and seven years recording and touring with banjo fusionist Alison Brown.
Jonathan Stoyanoff is a much in demand bassist who has played and/or shared bills with Larry Coryell, B.B. King, Robert Cray, Huey Lewis, Dave Mason, Jackie Greene, and many more.
Bruce MacMillan is a wonderfully intuitive musician dedicated to the holy temple of American Roots Music, including Blues to Bluegrass, Country to Jazz and Rock & Roll.
Hattie Craven has built a reputation as one of the finest young, if not youngest, performers on the stages of the Strawberry Music Festival, California Worldfest, Kate Wolf Memorial Festival and the Millpond Music Festival - all to standing ovations.
In an age of conformity, Darrell Scott proves that a talented non-conformist can still succeed. A soulful iconoclast, Scott is a hit songwriter, an in-demand instrumentalist and an acclaimed performer and recording artist - all achievements earned while burning his own path instead of playing by the accepted rules of the music industry. He's been nominated for a Grammy four times.
Darrell Scott is known as a songwriter for Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and the Dixie Chicks - and as a sideman for singers like Steve Earle, Guy Clark, Patty Loveless and Tim O'Brien - the Kentucky native is a Grammy-nominated artist, an award-winning songwriter and a first-call session musician. From alternate tunings to palm muted rhythm Darrell uses the full spectrum of what the acoustic guitar is capable of, and he doesn't stop on the acoustic guitar - he excels on dobro and mandolin - the man plays everything from piano to banjo to slide, you name it he plays it, and he plays it very well. Along the way, the multi-instrumentalist earned a degree in poetry from Tufts University.
He has toured extensively with Guy Clark, Sam Bush and Tim O'Brien and recorded with Patty Loveless, Randy Travis, Steve Earle, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Trisha Yearwood and Kate Rusby, among scores of others. He has written some of the most iconic songs in popular music. Songs such as "Long Time Gone" made famous by the Dixie Chicks, along with "It's a Great Day to Be Alive" sung by Travis Tritt all came from Darell Scott's pen as well as many many others.
Darrell's performances contain absolutely magical moments. His playing, singing, and song selection are products purely of the moment, and his varying treatments of songs keep you engaged throughout. He is the type of performer that seems most comfortable in the moment, and is an inspiration to anyone watching. From his playing, to his singing, to the constant variations of his songs, as well as his writing, this songwriter is one that is about as prolific as they get. His songs weave tales in an effortless manner, and as a listener you are always in for a wild musical and lyrical ride.
