FYI: Calaveras County Tree Mortality Program - Tree Removal Entry Forms

Hi, you may have heard that Calaveras County suspended work on tree mortality until it could sort out some budget issues. We have now been authorized to move forward with projects in the West Point-Glencoe-Railroad Flat-Wilseyville area and in the HWY 4 corridor between Arnold and Murphys.

The Calaveras County Tree Mortality program has recently sent requests to property owners in the County to allow a Registered Professional Forester access to determine if there are dead trees that qualify for free removal by licensed, insured tree service companies. Many right of entry forms have not been received to date and therefore, no action can be taken to assemble projects to remove the trees. Without written permission removal of hazardous trees cannot take place.

If you have received a right of entry form from the County please return the form to the Tree Mortality Program Manager, Dr. Richard Harris, by email or regular mail. His address is 825 Justin Way, Dixon CA 95620. If you have any questions about the program or if you need another copy of the form contact Dr. Harris at (707) 685-5508 or rrharrisconsulting@gmail.com.
