Sutter Creek’s Talent Loaded Music Festival Kicks off Summer
Stellar Wine and Music in the Sierra Foothills
SUTTER CREEK, CA - Saturday, June 22 at 4 p.m. Feist Wines kicks off their summer music series with an intimate, outdoor festival at their tasting room in Sutter Creek. The winery consistently offers hig
h caliber music shows and hosts local talent. The First Annual Eureka Street Music Festival presents a unique gathering of musicians and an incredible line up for the evening.
Headlining the show is Grammy Award winner Willie Watson, formerly of Old Crow Medicine Show, whose platinum-selling music helped jump start the 21st century folk revival. Fresh from a screen appearance in the Coen Brothers gritty film, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Watson is a folk singer in every sense.
“I’m not trying to prove any point here,” Watson insists, “and I’m not trying to be a purist. There’s so much beauty in this old music, and it affects me on a deep level. It moves me and inspires me. I heard Leadbelly singing with the Golden Gate Quartet and it sounded fantastic, and I thought, ‘I want to do that.’ I heard the Grateful Dead doing their version of ‘On the Road Again,’ and it sounded like a dance party in 1926, and I wanted to do that, too. That’s the whole reason I ever played music in the first place — because it looked and sounded like it was going to be a lot of fun.”
to perform is Los Angeles band The with a unique blend of blues and country. They play a wide range of music from psychedelic rock to classic country and folk. Ted Siegel has grown into one of the sharpest guitarists among the independent scene.
Closing the show is West Virginia based band, ONA. With a true brotherhood that comes from growing up together, these five band mates combine rock, indie rock, and country to create a unique sound.
The show opens with five-piece
band and local favorite, The Doghouse Blues, playing their brand of traditional blues.
Small lot wine, farm to fork wood-fired pizza, artisan cheeses and charcuterie will be available for purchase. The festivities begin at 4 p.m. General admission tickets are $35.00 and are available online or at Feist Wines.
