The first performance of the AmadorArts’ TGIF free concert series is June 14 and will feature the Latin jazz music of Primitivo. The concert begins at 6:00 pm in Jackson at the Kennedy Gold Mine, the upper area off of Highway 49/88. Bring your friends, chairs or blankets and picnics to the large shady lawn area. Food will be available for purchase, thanks to the hosts of the venue, the Kennedy Gold Mine Foundation.
For the AmadorArts’ major donors and TGIF sponsors, a VIP event in the Change House will occur before the concert begins. There is still time to become a major donor and be invited to this special pre-concert “thank you” mixer with appetizers, beer and wine. Donations support the non-profit’s many community programs.

Who is Primitivo? According to a band member, "There are only two kinds of music, the kind that’s from the heart and the kind that's not." Primitivo is the epitome of music from the heart. With William Russell on guitar, Dave Holob on electric violin, and artist-musician Carlos Lopez on percussion and vocals, the Latin jazz styles of Primitivo will set the perfect tone for this lovely summer evening at the beautiful historic Kennedy Gold Mine in Jackson.
To reach the venue location just off Highway 49/88, turn down the hill across from Jon’s Pit Stop and by the Linda Vista Motel. Follow the well-maintained gravel road for half mile to the Kennedy Gold Mine. Plenty of free convenient parking. Visit www.amadorarts.org for more info about TGIF concerts. The next concert will be June 21in Ione at the Preston Castle’s back patio featuring Vogan Toll.
