AmadorArts Free Summer TGIF Concerts Kick-off June 14

Celebrating the 21st annual summer season of free Friday night concerts, AmadorArts has a line-up of ten fabulous bands reflective of the quality and longevity of this series.  Known as TGIF it’s been an Amador tradition since 1998 when no one else was presenting music for free in community parks stretching from Ione to Pioneer.

Starting June 14 and running until August 23, always from 6:00 pm to dusk, the concerts will feature a different band each Friday to deliver passion and excitement to kick off your weekend. The first TGIF concert, June 14, will be at the historic Kennedy Gold Mine and will feature Latin rhythm music by Primitivo, a popular local duo of Bill Russell on guitar and Dave Holob on electric violin and mandolin.

Be sure to be there if you have a goal of making it to ALL ten of this season’s concerts. TGIFers of all ages start to arrive early to set up picnics and to meet and chat with friends. This is, after all, the weekly fun thing to do for hundreds of Amador residents and out-of-towners too. AmadorArts, aka Amador County Arts Council, is the 37-year-old non-profit organization that also brings arts education to local schools and the community and acts as a regional catalyst for all the arts.
