Amador County Library Centennial Celebration & Summer Reading Program Kickoff - Sat June 15

The Amador County Library is celebrating 100 years of service with a Community Party on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Jackson Main Library, 530 Sutter Street in Jackson. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Amador County Library.

Bring the family and celebrate 100 years of the Amador County Library with food, entertainment, birthday cake, library fun, and poetry! Enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages, fun entertainment for kids, and an opportunity to discover all that the library has to offer.

Take a Story Walk and marvel at laminated pages from a children’s picture book displayed on special display posts starting at the outdoor archway.

Enjoy “California Listens” videos. These oral histories recounted by long-time Amador County residents will be running in a loop on a large-screen TV.

Watch the 3D printer in action.

Discover library services like Google Chromebooks, the Law Library computer, Ancestry.com, ABC Mouse, learning games for the littlest kids, and so much more.

Pick up your Summer Reading Program reading log. This year’s theme: “It’s Showtime!”

Outside in the parking lot: Face painting, balloon animals, free books for kids and adults, and much more.

12 noon – 12:30 p.m.: Amador County Folklorico Dancers perform.
